How do you communicate?

As part of our sound topic in P7 for World Around Us we studied how sound travels, what impacts volume and pitch, and how we hear. Today we developed our awareness of hearing difficulties by learning about the various levels of deafness, the parts of the ear that are affected if a person is deaf, and the difficulties deaf people face in communication. As part of our lesson we delved into the world of a deaf person and completed lip reading challenges, learnt to finger spell, and learnt basic sign language words. We worked in pairs to have small conversations by introducing ourselves and discussing our feelings.
